Carondelet Pottery is an art studio founded in 2009 by Bridget McDermott Flood. Located in a rehabbed brick building built in 1891 in the historic Carondelet neighborhood of South Saint Louis, Carondelet Pottery features functional porcelain and majolica ware as well as art for the home and garden.
Bridget studied ceramics with James Ibur. She has been a potter and artist for more than 25 years. Previously she and her colleague, Pat Thibodeau, operated fireworks, a ceramic studio in the historic Benton Park neighborhood. Bridget also collaborates with her husband, woodworker Michael Flood, by creating tiles that are incorporated in his original furniture designs that are produced by his studio, Three Wolves Woodshop.
In addition to ceramics, the studio also hosts periodic glass fusing and indigo dyeing events.
Carondelet Pottery is located at 6735 Alabama, St. Louis, MO 63111. Studio hours are by appointment only.
